‘All About Asteraceae: the plant family with flower power’
Summer Haze...
This wildlife-friendly border showcases a selection of the amazing range of Asteraceae that we can grow in the UK. The collection displays not only the vast variety of plant forms and flower shapes, but also the differences in adaptability to moisture content in the soil, ranging from drought tolerant plants to moisture- loving varieties.
The grassland of Home Park provided the starting point for the colour scheme, with its yellow, gold, orange and pink hues, and has also inspired the softly undulating topography of the border. Columns and hedges provide structure and definition to the space, while grasses are included to capture the surrounding landscape and knit the planting together. A small pool emphasises the link to the moisture-loving planting that surrounds it, as well as providing a water source for garden wildlife.
